Greetings, my fellow productivity hounds. It’s project update time! These monthly blog posts help me keep track of where I am against my goals, and for anyone following along they provide a realistic look at the work of an independent author.
Nothing new to report.
Woot! The Case of the Floating Funeral is complete! Yesterday, P put our production files together and the book is in the hands of a few early readers. My final read-through gave me all the feels and the plot is nice and twisty. 🙂
I have a few more ducks to line up before announcing the release date.
Building a Writing Wiki: I’m making a writing wiki to capture my habits, practices, and knowledge about creative writing. You can find it here or by clicking the big W icon on my website’s social bar. My most recent entry is Fiction Editing Workflow. I don’t expect my wiki will be all that interesting to non-writers, and mostly it’s for me, but feel free to poke around.
Taking WMG Publishing’s “Writing with Depth” Class: I’ve had my eye on this class for a while, but because I’m working on making our little publishing business profitable, the $300 price tag held me back. WMG offered a half-off special recently and I jumped! I’m two weeks in, and the class has already surpassed my (high) expectations.
Mask Making: I’ve been sewing cloth masks for friends and family. Shout out to my friend M who dropped off two old pairs of black pants to keep me in fabric for a while longer.
Binge-Watching Bones: When you’re stuck inside for long periods of time, it helps to have something to binge watch that doesn’t require much energy. For us, that’s Bones. We’re up to Season 8, and there are four more seasons to go. We’ll need a new show in a few weeks. I’m thinking about Community.
Anyway, that’s what I’m up to. How are your projects going, blog buddies?
PS: Keep washing those paws.
